Silvia Lospennato: "La Libertad Avanza cares more about beating PRO in the City than governing."

National Representative Silvia Lospennato , who is seeking a seat in the Buenos Aires Legislature for the PRO party, stated that La Libertad Avanza "is more focused on defeating" Macri's government in the City of Buenos Aires than at the national level. "The PRO party is not their adversary," she stated in a radio interview prior to the May 18 legislative elections.
Silvia Lospennato praised the management of her political party and emphasized that "the city's DNA is built on the work of the PRO." She noted that the party has governed Buenos Aires City for 17 years and that it did so "together with the residents."
The leader also addressed the televised debate between the main Buenos Aires candidates, in which she shared the stage with Manuel Adorni and Leandro Santoro . She said both "are more concerned with positioning themselves for 2027 than with exercising their legislative role."
"Many come to ask for a job they don't want to do," he said, emphasizing that his candidacy aims to continue the project started by Mauricio Macri in the City.
During the debate, Adorni defended Javier Milei 's national administration, while Santoro spoke of the "end of a cycle" in the Buenos Aires administration. Lospennato, on the other hand, focused on continuity and "the real transformations that the PRO has carried out."
The representative emphasized that the PRO party was responsible for key public works and sustained public policies: "We created the SAME (National Action Party), built the Metrobus, defended education and public health. All of this is part of the identity of Buenos Aires," she remarked.
He also spoke about the Clean Record bill, which will be considered by the Senate on May 7. "I hope it passes. Anyone who doesn't support it is giving Cristina Kirchner impunity," he said.
The debate, which aired on Canal de la Ciudad, lasted nearly three hours and brought together candidates from the 17 lists competing in the election. The main discussions focused on the management of the City, the national economy, and the political direction for the coming years.
For Silvia Lospennato, the real battle in these elections is for the leadership of Buenos Aires. "It's not about defeating Kirchnerism or Mileism. It's about defending what we've built over the years with the PRO," she concluded.
